A Boundary-Exploring educational Seminar
Nearly 10,000 people experience the thrill of Aish HaTorah's Discovery Seminar each year. With its finessed yet entertaining style and state-of-the-art reasoning techniques, Discovery makes the case for Judaism in deeply satisfying and logical ways.
Unpack the Mystery
A variety of original workshops round out the seminar, teaching students how to engage with the the more mysterious parts of the Jewish tradition. We disprove the myth that Judaism is against pleasure and teach participants how to enrich themselves using Judaism's insights.
explore The Science
We don't need to brush science aside to make the case for Judaism; in fact, science will help us do it. In "Hidden Codes of the Torah," we'll demonstrate the impressive results of high-speed computer analysis of the letters of the Torah.
Discover the truth
Participants will begin Discovery by challenging Judaism's central principles using a technique called Failsafe, which originates with the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency. This chain of discussions acts as a means of testing belief in Judaism for an underlying rational foundation.

Sample Classes from the Discovery Seminar:
Distinguishing Knowledge from Faith
It is a modern assumption that belief in any religion, Judaism included, is a matter of blind faith. The Discovery Seminar argues that belief in Judaism is not a matter of blind faith, but should be arrived at by a logical decision with a basis in evidence. This class deals with making decisions and the important differences between decisions made on faith and those made with evidence.
The Seven Wonders of Jewish History
The Jewish People are an eternal riddle. How have Jews survived longer than so many other civilizations while constantly existing under existential threat? Are Jews the Chosen People? If so, what is the reason that they are so hated? Are they active in the world or scholarly and bookish? These apparent contradictions within Jewish history are the groundwork for a riveting adventure.
Information Only the Author Could Have Known
The Torah contains many pieces of information which could not have been known to mankind when it was written 3,300 years ago. These are not vague references or overly general predictions, but specific, stark declarations of facts. While unknown to the ancient world, the Torah includes clear wisdom that would not be found elsewhere for centuries or millennia.
Bible Codes: The Hidden Genius of the Torah
With the help of mathematicians and computer scientists from the government of the US and leading universities in the US and Jerusalem, many of the 3,300 year-old Torah's codes have been cracked.. This class shows how the research is done and what the codes say, all with surprising attention to detail.
G-d's Hand in History
This class handles two highly illogical and almost preposterous commandments given to the Jewish people, commandments no reasonable "human authors" could have made because they require control of history beyond that which humans are capable. This class also reveals how stunningly and closely human history has paralleled the predictions made in the Torah and Prophets.
